Mind Matters
Summing it all up, friends, I’d say you’ll do best by filling your minds and meditating on things true, noble, reputable, authentic, compelling, gracious—the best, not the worst; the beautiful, not the ugly; things to praise, not things to curse. Put into practice what you learned from me, what you heard and saw and realized. Do that, and God, who makes everything work together, will work you into his most excellent harmonies.
Philippians 4:8-9 MSG
These days, almost everywhere you turn, bad news seems to fill the media, world over. I have found that dwelling on such negative report affects my thoughts and depletes my energy, so I have simply stopped, instead I try to refocus my mind on good news, the promises of God over my life and testimonies of his faithfulness, this brings me peace and strength to look to the future with hope.
The way we think determines the outcomes we get out of life. Inspite of All that surrounds us, scripture encourages us to think hope filled thoughts, so we would have the harmony of spirit to see new opportunities and embrace the beautiful life ahead of us. God can create beauty out of ashes, if we look to him in faith.
Declare to yourself- 'I will no longer think unhealthy thoughts that limit me from experiencing the kind of life I desire. I embrace new thoughts that propel me to my highest self today.' In Jesus Name. AMEN.

ReplyDeleteI must confess, I find it challenging at times to fill my heart with hope filled thoughts and not dwell on matters or news that weigh me down.
I feel you dear sis, I sometimes struggle too but one thing I do which helps is, I pull out my record of God's word and promises to me, I dwell on this and his faithfulness to me in times past, it helps me to overcome the phase of sadness and I'm able to look up to him in hope again. we may not always understand why he makes us wait, but we trust that he would cone through and when he does, it would be worth the wait. So remain strong my dear sis. He is faithful.
