Grace Whispers...Define your identity in me

My child, I do not seek you harm, i am your father, i made you.  It is time to shift your focus and sense of worth, from your performance, achievements and financial status, to your worth and position in me. 

 YOU beloved are mine! Remember how I called you out from your father's house, when you were small in your own eyes, when you were yet a child and knew nothing and I brought you to myself and blessed you. 
You do not have to perform to be called somebody in my eyes, you are precious to me.
 Do not let your identity be in your perceived ability, nor measure your value and esteem by your earthly worth and network.

 The darkness, pain and loss you suffer are only for a while, not caused by me, but a consequence of sin in the world in which you live. I bring redemption my child and I will use this pain to show you who I really am, you and all yours.

If you capture this, it will be more valuable than having all the comforts of this world, for you will know that I am more than able to make you what I have called you to be.  You will have no pride in your self or your ability, but you will know that I AM YOUR SOURCE and IDENTITY. Your position and esteem is in me not in anything on earth.

 In me you will walk in your kingship for this is how I have made you all, my children, a kingdom of kings on earth. Model and teach this to your children and their children for this is a great legacy to give to them.

The story of queen Esther - the Jew turned Queen of Persia, is one I have always found quite remarkable (you would find the story in the bible book of Esther). Throughout the whole reality-TV-type drama, (the first scene with the gals all lined up hoping to be selected queen, an ancient episode of The Bachelor, perhaps?), Queen Esther remained focused and clear.   Theres certainly a lot we can learn from her that will guide us as we navigate our own life circumstances, whether dire or humdrum. Our Special Advent

   "...even in the dark of night God is at work, breaking through the husks around our hearts and bringing life, from under dead leaves" CS LEWIS Yesterday, we gathered to celebrate to offer thanks and prayers. As we reminisced about this year now winding down, we realised that even in what looked like utter darkness and uncertainty externally in our world, God was working on the inside, in the secret unseen places, healing, restoring, renewing, mending...getting us ready for our NEXT! C.S. Lewis once asked, “Why are so many holy places dark places?
