Beyond What You See

"What we see is not all that is."

People often say the words "seeing is believing", but not so with God, He says:

"...blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”
John 20:29 NIV

I remember when I was going to have my second baby (who is a big boy now) and I was told I couldn't have a normal delivery due to some complications the doctors explained.
I heard them quite well, understood their medical reasoning, but something in me would not settle for less than I had been confessing and believing God for, from the moment I knew I was pregnant.
So I went home and continued with my word confession, speaking out what I wanted and what Gods word - the bible, says about it. Every time a fearful thought came into my mind, I simply held fast onto his word, I just could not let go.

I had always had this 'father - daughter' relationship with God and always conversed with him, we talked on every subject, he introduced me to his word, I found answers in there for whatever questions I had then as a young lady, He was (still is) my God, friend and father.  I learned over the years, in that relationship, that His word supersedes any other voice of dissension, and I chose to trust his word, even when I couldn't 'feel or hear' him.
On the day of delivery, My son was born naturally, about 4 hours after my  water broke, 3.5kg (7.7 pounds) healthy and without any complications, to the glory of God.

As I write this post,  sharing my testimony, I am being reminded again to live by what I believe, in spite of the uncertainty and circumstances around. Likewise I say to you, believe in the things God laid in your heart concerning that circumstance you're in, or better still believe in his word, continue doing what good you ought to do, let your words match your faith not what you see, and watch God do what only he can do.

What we see is not all that is, there is more, God is more, He is sovereign, He is bigger than any challenge we face, bigger than our hearts. He knows the end of everything, even before the begining, so hold onto your faith in him, even when you dont feel him. Our feelings are fickle, but a heart of faith, which comes by staying close to the word of God, hearing, reading, and meditating on it, sees beyond the temporary, beyond what the physical senses feel.
Most of all, God is pleased and honours those who look to him in faith. He came through for me, He will do same for you, if you believe.

Say with me today, LORD I BELIEVE, I BELIEVE YOU. Forgive my unbelief.

Rita Oladiran.
