Bravery Begins Here
I love the record of prayers in the Psalms, as they bear evidence of deep heart felt conversations, prayers made by real people at different seasons of their lives, they very well serve as replicable models for us even now, several years later. I have found comfort praying them especially when I can't put together words to fully express my heart.
Psalm 139 is one of those that put a short halt in my flow, infact, several. Particularly verses 23–24 ...
"God, I invite your searching gaze into my heart. Examine me through and through; find out everything that may be hidden within me. Put me to the test and sift through all my anxious cares. See if there is any path of pain I’m walking on, and lead me back to your glorious, everlasting ways— the path that brings me back to you".
Psalms 139:23-24 TPT
It takes great courage to say this prayer, It's not an everyday prayer.
BUT, when we get to a pivotal point in our lives where we are tired of all the make believe, masking, running and hiding, and we are actually ready to purge our hearts with some honest soul searching before God, Psalm 139 is a good place to linger for a bit - Selah.
Make Psalm 139 a personal prayer as you go through your seasons and while youre at it, ask and receive his help and grace to deal with the things that may surface - things that God would reveal to you about yourself.
