FIGHT

"We have been given an inherent ability not to suffer but FIGHT".

For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.

2 Timothy 1:7 NIV

The promises of God are Yea and Amen in Christ Jesus. God cannot lie, once he has given his word concerning any matter, He will make it happen, no matter what it takes because He simply cannot lie.  However, we have a part to play in ensuring we get the outcome, and victory we desire. For King Jehoshaphat in  2nd Chronicles 20, his part was to take his position in the battle and STAND IN PRAISE, while God fought for him, likewise for the children of Isreal at the walls of Jericho - Joshua 6.

Once, when I was going through huge financial struggles, God said these words to me.... "fight for the release of your finances, 'I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy'. Use this authority, which I have given you, to take back your money and your family's finances. I am not the one holding back, decree so that what you desire will be established for you, I am ready and set to help you. Stand your ground in the place of prayer and praise, fast to harness the intensity of the Spirit and Power to breakthrough as you pray and praise. Pray until your joy is full".  I quickly responded by confessing and declaring his word and promises over my family finances persistently, and miraculously we began to recover funds we thought we could never get out - I will include a list of some of my personal confessions and declaration in my next post.

Author Lisa Bevere observed that "no promise of God comes without a fight". I quite agree with her, from my experience, we can't wish the promises into being, we have to take these promises - God's word, back to Him in prayer.  David did this in 2nd Samuel 7, when God told him He would build him a dynasty to last forever in Israel, bible records..."then King David went in and sat before the Lord , and he said...“ 2 Samuel 7:18.

You will also decree a thing, and it will be established to you. Light will shine on your ways.
                              Job 22:28

The word of God is the sword of the Spirit by which we decree and establish the will of God upon the earth and in our lives. Ephesians 6:17 says...."take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God". This is Apostle Paul instructing believers to use the word as a spirirual sword, our armour of offence. In his letter to the Hebrews he also says..." the word of God is sharper than a two edged sword". Furthermore, the bible records that the word of God is spirit and has life giving power... "the words that I speak to you, are spirit and they are life" John 6:63.  Prophet Jeremiah says the word is like a hammer that shatters rocks, meaning - The word of God is a weapon! Our weapon for life and warfare.

God has given us authority by His word to establish his will on earth, so we are confident that He will honour us as we speak and declare it over our lives.

Every promise God has given us will be tested and challenged by the enemy, because he doesn't want us to enjoy the full benefits of our sonship, this is why we need to fight, taking a stand of Faith, and declaring His word and promises over our life, inspite of all oppositions and even when we are weary. He is able and willing to overturn all oppositions,  give us the spoils of victory and blessings he's preserved for us.
